Badger Hill 4-1 Fulford St Oswald's
Badger Hill 1-0 Dunnington
AYJS (Bishopthorpe) 4 – 0 Badger Hill
The first match in the cade trophy for Badger Hill was against AYJS (Bishopthorpe). Bishopthorpe took the first kick-off. The first half was a blur of fancy footwork and shots missing by millimetres. The whistle blew.
Half Time: 0-0
Badger Hill took the kick-off and Dimitri smashed a shot just wide. Bishopthorpe restarted and scored a good goal. We kept our heads up and Haram made the crowd go 'Ohhhh'. A Bishopthorpe player took a long shot and the ball slipped into the goal. We kept our spirits up and Dimitri just missed the goal. Again, a Bishopthorpe player took a long shot and again, the ball slipped into the goal. Mitch then, again, smashed a shot wide. Then, again, Bishopthorpe scored and the final whistle was blown.
Man Of The Match: Dimitri for perseverance.
St Oswald’s 1 - 4 Badger Hill (Omar, Haram, Omar, Omar)
The second match in the Cade Trophy Tournament for Badger Hill was against St Oswald’s. We got the first kick-off and Omar scored an early goal. The next 4 minutes were a big battle. Dimitri dribbled the ball into a puddle and fell over, getting very muddy! Then a St Oswald’s player dribbled into the box, the sun shone in our goalkeeper’s (Arthur) eyes and he tried to grab the ball but missed, and St Oswald’s scored. We kept our heads up and took the kick-off. Dimitri then passed the ball to Haram, who smashed the ball which missed the goal by 1 INCH. St Oswald’s took their goal kick, and Dimitri intercepted! He smashed into the box and Omar kicked it at the goalkeeper, who deflected, then Haram had a shot, which was blocked by a player, then finally Haram tapped it in for a second Badger Hill goal.
Half Time: 1-2
St Oswald’s kicked off the second half with a shot just wide. Dimitri took the goal kick and Omar received the ball. Then he battled his way past three players and smashed the ball in to the top left corner. St Oswald’s took their kick-off and went on the full on attack. One player made a great shot, and Arthur dived to save it and took a bath in the puddle. We managed not to concede and even scored another goal. The match finished 1-4 to Badger Hill!
Man of the match: Omar for a hat-trick.
Dunnington 0-1 Badger Hill (Haram)
The final match in the cade trophy tournament for Badger Hill was against Dunnington. They were tough and created a few chances but we defended well and kept the scores on 0-0 on the first half.
The goal was a bit early in the second half though. We intercepted the ball and Junha passed the ball to Omar. Omar did really well when he got the ball. He kept it nice and steady, went past a few players, and made a nice chance for haram. And haram smashed the ball in the net! Dunnington attacked even harder after our goal but we kept our scores on 1-0.
Men of the Match: Junha & Haram.
Junha for creating chances and good passes.
Haram for enthusiastic running and the winning goal.
